Info for participants

Each participating country will send a team of four students.

  • They should be students of secondary schools (general or technical), or ex-students who have not commenced higher level studies;
  • their age should not exceed twenty years on June 30th of the year of the Competition
  • preferably they should have parcipated in a national geography competition prior to the international geography competition.

In addition to the students, two adult representatives are invited. One will be delegated as the person responsible for the content of the competition, and the other will have specific responsibility for the competitors. One of the team leaders will become member of the International Board, where they will have equal rights.

The adult representatives must be selected from specialists in geography or geography teaching, and be capable of solving competently the problems of the competition. Each of them should be able to speak the official language of the International Geography Competition (English) and to translate the problems to the mother tongue of the competitors.

The person responsible for each participating team will present the organizers with a list containing the personal data of the contestants (family name, first names, the first names of parents, date of birth, home address, email adresses, the type and address of the school attended).
