The 2025 iGeo - Bangkok, Thailand

Bangkok, the Capital of Thailand, situated in the lower Chao Phraya River delta, is Thailand’s administrative, economic, social, and cultural center. It holds domestic and international importance and will serve as the dynamic backdrop for iGeo 2025, centered around the theme of "Unity in Diversity." Hosted by the POSN and the Department of Geography, Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University, the Olympiad will bring together participants from diverse backgrounds in a city renowned for its rich cultural tapestry and modern energy. The events will be held at Chulalongkorn University, which is centrally located to provide easy access to Bangkok’s many attractions and experiences.

IGEO events will take place in Maynooth town, the University of Maynooth and Trinity College Dublin.

Throughout the Olympiad, students will immerse themselves in Bangkok’s unique blend of tradition and modernity. Activities will include city tours and visits to iconic sites such as the Grand Palace, highlighting the city's cultural diversity and the harmonious coexistence of various traditions and lifestyles. These experiences will deepen participants' understanding of Bangkok's rich heritage and vibrant contemporary life.

Participants will have ample opportunities to explore Bangkok's geographical, historical, and contemporary facets, truly reflecting the spirit of "Unity in Diversity." Free time will allow students to further engage with the city's dynamic atmosphere, ensuring their visit is both educational and enjoyable.

2025 iGeo will be held from 26 July to 1 August, 2025. More information will be available on the website created by LoC in November, 2024.
